September 1st was the biggest move-in day of the year in Boston, and our Xfinity teams were in the thick of it, making moving less stressful with instant installs of Xfinity products and services, free pedi-cab rides and, best of all, free muscle: Professional movers from Gentle Giant Moving Company and Stairhopper Movers partnered with us to surprise and delight folks by helping to haul their stuff for free.
Our movers helped 65 residents in Allston and the Fenway and between furniture trips, our Xfinity X1 truck cranked out festive music throughout the crowded streets and our pedi cab rides whizzed folks through the crowded streets. Our teams had a blast helping people make moving day as easy as possible.
We know that people want to be connected as soon as possible, so we had more than 200 employees pitch in across more than 100 events in Boston alone. Many of the events included “sign-up” stations allowing interested customers to get an instant install with one of our self-install kits (so they’re online within minutes once they plug in) or schedule a professional installation with one of our local technicians.
We also made it easier to do business with us in Cambridge by opening an Xfinity Store in Fresh Pond Plaza (186 Alewife Brook Parkway).
The store is a great place for customers to get help and learn tips about Xfinity services, or for new customers to experience our products and services for the first time.
