Comcast NBCUniversal was just named one of the 2019 FORTUNE “Best Big Companies to Work For,” ranking #3 on the inaugural list, according to global research and consulting firm Great Place to Work and Fortune.
We’re enormously proud of our nearly 200,000 employees worldwide who work tirelessly every day to deliver a great customer experience, and who have also created an exceptional workplace. More than 90% of Comcast employees surveyed for the FORTUNE award cited Comcast as a great place to work. As noted in the link above, the award is based on survey responses to questions about workplace culture including trust in managers, compensation, fairness, camaraderie, and workplace traits linked to innovation.
Comcast has been recognized with various local “Best Place to Work” honors as well from The Boston Globe, The Boston Business Journal and Business New Hampshire Magazine. With a 5,000+ strong workforce in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine, we continue to hire locally, adding talented individuals to our team at our award-winning workplace.
At Comcast, we’ve found one of the keys to cultivating a successful workforce is supporting our employees with opportunities, resources and benefits both in their work lives and personal lives. For instance, we provide employees with a myriad of leadership development opportunities through Comcast University (the company’s training for employee development) which help employees advance from entry level to the management ranks and beyond.
Additionally, our active Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) supported by company leadership help us to identify and develop talent. Locally, our six ERGs are focused on women, veterans, young professionals, LGTBQ, African Americans and those with different abilities — all of which share the common objective of building an inclusive and diverse workforce to reflect the communities we serve in Greater Boston and beyond. In addition, the Greater Boston Region has its own Diversity & Inclusion Council, which is comprised of high-performing employees selected by the senior leadership team to participate and help the region further its diversity goals. Nationwide, seven out of 10 new hires in 2018 were women or people of color. Plus, we’ve hired more than 15,000 members of the military community since 2010.
Comcast also provides a comprehensive suite of health and wellness benefits on Day One for all new employees. For example, beyond health insurance, employees have access to Accolade, which is a healthcare concierge designed to quickly resolve any need for referrals or adjustments with insurance companies. Plus, employees have access to innovative health services such as Doctor On Demand for a secure two-way communication without necessarily having to see a doctor in person, and Grand Rounds for second opinions with noted specialists from flagship hospitals across the country.
Comcast is consistently seeking the right talent. If you have been looking for a new job opportunity at an award-winning workplace, below is a sampling of current positions in the Greater Boston Region as of February 2019:
