Xfinity Tips: Why Renting a Gateway is Better

We’re back again with another Xfinity Tips segment on our xFi Gateway, which is a modem and router designed to deliver the xFi experience.  We believe (and our customers tell us in surveys) that renting an xFi Gateway provides a superior in-home WiFi experience with reliably fast speeds, consistent coverage, and control for your online experience at home.

The video below tells you more, but it comes down to three specific reasons why renting a gateway is the best option:

  • First, because it’s our equipment, we can ensure that it has the latest firmware to support our latest speeds and security enhancements to provide the best possible online experience.  And, we know that customer satisfaction is much higher for our Internet customers who rent a gateway from us instead of buying one on their own.
  • Second, if you need extra coverage in a large apartment or home, we offer xFi Pods that work exclusively with our gateways to eliminate deadspots and deliver even more consistent coverage.
  • Third, the xFi experience is conveniently included with your xFi Gateway rental.  For example, you can set up your WiFi environment in minutes, find your WiFi password, know who’s online, troubleshoot issues and manage family members’ online experiences with features like Pause and Parental Controls.  Simply download the Xfinity xFi app to customize your home WiFi and device experience today.

And, if you rent a gateway, we’ll swap it out for newer devices whenever we increase our internet speeds.
